Rebecca (Becky) Saunders
Founder & CEO / Board Member
Becky resides in Hamilton with her husband, Bruce, 3 of their 4 children, and 3 dogs! In 2018 she and her husband became certified foster parents in Loudoun County, and it was during that training, that she was moved to help these kids find some normalcy in their lives, and so 'UpsideDown Moments' began. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, photography, and the beach.
Chris Henn
Treasurer / Board Member
Chris lives in Chantilly, Virginia with his wife, 2 teenagers, and a large Great Dane. Chris brings experience as a Board Member, nonprofit leader, and business owner to the team. He has a background in finance and financial systems. Serving as Board Treasurer, Chris will ensure that UDM operates in an efficient fiscally responsible manner. In his spare time, Chris coaches boys' soccer, plays golf, and is a fitness enthusiast.
Alexis Ozden
Secretary / Board Member
Alexis works in the National Defense Industry and also runs her own home decor business. Alexis enjoys exploring new destinations through her travels, finding peace and strength through yoga and fitness, and cherishing quality time with her husband and her daughter. Alexis' skills and dedication will enrich our organization and help us make a positive impact in the lives of youth in need!
Renee Boetticher
Executive Coordinator for Board / Community Engagement Specialist
Renee, along with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and cat, resides in Round Hill, Virginia. Having run her own business for 7 years, Renee brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our organization. She manages our social media, website, and much more, ensuring that we continue to provide support to those who need it most. Renee is passionate about assisting children in foster care and at-risk youth and believes the real effort of a few people can make big changes.
Adrianna Boyer
Advocacy Coordinator / Board Member
Adrianna resides in Sterling, VA with her 2 children Schueyler and Phoenix. She currently works for CACI as a Sales Administrator. She volunteers on a panel for future foster parents in training. Adrianna is a former foster youth; she was in care from the ages of 12-21. She is dedicated to provide a critical role on the board for UpsideDown Moments, for current and former foster youth. She hopes to share her experience, establish resources, and build skills to help others become independent after aging out of foster care. In her free time Adrianna enjoys reading, shopping, watching movies, writing, and spending time with her kids.
Steve Gaitten
Website & Digital Marketing Support
Steve has lived in Loudoun since 1997 when he moved here for a job at America Online. As the founder of the local website design firm, Loudoun Digital, Steve has actively supported a number of local nonprofits, including HeroHomes and The JK Community Farm. He contributes expertise in website operations, social media, and digital marketing and is also keen to leverage a large personal and professional network to support the UpsideDown Moments mission.
Leslie Ihara
Volunteer Coordinator
Leslie currently resides in the South Riding/Aldie area with her husband of 24 years, Chris, daughter Emma (junior at James Madison University), son Ben (freshman at James Madison University) and their cat, Gracie. In addition to working with the UpsideDown Moments team, Leslie works full time for a remote-based financial services technology company. When not working, you can find her baking, exercising, or looking for a new hobby to take up her ‘extra time’ as a new empty nester.
Holly Angle
Loudoun County School Advocate
Holly resides in Loudoun County and has for the past 8 years. She has spent her entire career serving children and youth in a variety of capacities including reunification, foster care and child protective services. She currently works in LCPS with students experiencing homelessness. She is dedicated to ensuring that children and youth have all opportunities to succeed no matter their circumstances. Holly is dedicated to ensuring students have a voice in all decisions impacting their lives at all times. In her free time, she is currently furthering her education at Shenandoah University, enjoys working out and spending time with family and friends.
Deb Bayliss
Frederick County Liaison
Deb calls Winchester, Virginia her home, where she serves as the dedicated bookkeeper for an Elementary School. From UpsideDown Moments' start, she has played a crucial role as a dedicated volunteer, and she takes great pleasure in her involvement. In her free time, she enjoys time with family, thrift shopping, and a good book.
Theresa Fassig Normil
Seasonal Blessings Coordinator
Theresa, a proud resident of Aldie, VA, is a dedicated mother to a high school senior and sophomore, both of whom are rapidly growing up. She has a deep-seated passion for community service, instilled not only in herself but also in her children. Together, they have actively contributed to communities worldwide, from establishing a Parent-Teacher Association in Doha, Qatar, to providing foster care for dogs in need. In addition to her commitment to volunteer work, Theresa brings valuable experience in federal government contracting from her role with a professional services technology company. Additionally, Theresa serves as the Seasonal Blessings Coordinator for UpsideDown Moments, expertly handling the sorting, logistics, planning, and facilitation of the event. Outside of her professional endeavors, she can often be found shuttling her kids to various events, indulging in live performances, or exploring new destinations from her ever-expanding bucket list. Additionally, Theresa serves as the Seasonal Blessings Coordinator for UpsideDown Moments, expertly handling the sorting, logistics, planning, and facilitation of the event.
Madeline Petri
Junior Development Associate
Maddie has lived in Ashburn for almost 10 years. She is a high school student and a small business owner who is passionate about changing the lives of children in foster care, at-risk youth, and those who have aged out of foster care. Maddie has experience raising goods and donations for charities, as well as experience running social media for her small business. She is currently focusing on managing the Instagram account for UpsideDown Moments and will also assist with fundraising endeavors. She hopes to bring awareness through social media about foster care and youth in need, and share how people can make a difference in their community. During her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and crocheting!
