Volunteer Coordinator
Are you a people person with a heart for service? We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to be the friendly face that welcomes new volunteers, keeps our team engaged, and ensures everyone feels connected to our mission. In this role, you’ll send monthly updates about volunteer opportunities, plan and attend our quarterly shelter birthday parties, track volunteer hours, and foster a sense of community among our amazing team. If you’re organized, communicative, and passionate about creating meaningful experiences for others, we’d love to have you join us!

Grant Writer
Are you skilled in storytelling and strategic writing? We’re seeking a Grant Writer to help us secure funding that fuels our mission. You’ll work from an organized spreadsheet of grant opportunities—complete with deadlines and links—and use our draft content to craft compelling proposals. Ideal candidates will have writing experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for making a meaningful impact. Your work will directly support children in foster care, aged-out youth, and at-risk communities.

Event Planner
Love creating memorable experiences? Take the lead in planning two exciting annual events—one for kids and one for adults—to support our mission! You’ll manage logistics, coordinate with vendors, and bring creative ideas to life. Hours are flexible and increase during event planning seasons. If you’re organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to have you on the team!

DONATION SORTING
Our team sorts donations into two categories: keep and toss. The ‘keep’ items are items we can distribute to those in need, and the ‘toss’ items are items we cannot distribute due to wear and tear or stains, we offer these as 'free play clothes' on Facebook. We strive to provide the best quality items to those who need them most.
SUPER SATURDAY CELEBRATIONS
As a volunteer, you'll be an essential part of the team, helping with setup, assisting with games and activities, and ensuring the children have a blast throughout the party. So, if you have a heart for kids and a passion for making their special day extra special, we invite you to be a part of our Super Saturday Celebrations volunteer team. Come spread joy and create lasting memories for our little ones, on the first Saturday of each quarter. Let's make this a celebration to remember!


MONTHLY CLOTHING DRIVE
Join UpsideDown Moments in reaching more youth in foster care and at-risk youth. Partnering with Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, which has graciously offered to hold donation hours 9-11:30 on the second Sunday of each month. We need volunteers to help collect and load the donations into the vehicle they also are allowing us to borrow each month. SEASONAL BLESSINGS VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer to help at our Seasonal Blessings Events. We are looking for volunteers to help pack, sort and distribute bags.
Your support will help us ensure that the event runs smoothly and everyone has a great experience.​
