August UpsideDown Moments Newsletter

August was a month of significant progress for the foster children, at-risk youth, and young adults we serve, and we owe this success entirely to the dedication of our incredible volunteers. As we enter fall, we have already made significant progress towards our annual goals, and with a few months left in 2026, we are aiming to go even further above and beyond.
August Impact Statistics:
40 total clients assisted across all programs
70 hours of Volunteer Hours Recorded
43 backpacks filled with essential school supplies
23 backpacks provided directly to Loudoun DFS for children in foster care
1 Super Saturday Celebration held to provide games, activities, and a special day for the children currently residing in the homeless shelter
Saying Goodbye to Renee Boetticher 💙

After four incredible years of dedication and service to UpsideDown Moments, we are saying goodbye to Renee, who has served as both our Social Media Manager and a valued Board Member.
Renee has helped share the UDM story, celebrate our impact, and bring our mission to life through social media. Her creativity, commitment, and willingness to jump in and help have meant so much to our organization.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, talent, and heart Renee has given to UDM over the past four years. While we will miss having her on our team, we are excited for what comes next for her and wish her nothing but the very best!
Thank you, Renee, for helping us turn upside down into upside right! 💙
New Chapter for Donations
As UpsideDown Moments continues to grow and evolve, we are making an important change to how we collect donations.
Beginning October 1st, we will no longer be accepting used clothing or other used items. This change will allow us to focus our time and resources on providing the most meaningful support to the children, youth, and families we serve.
We will continue accepting new items for our FirstNight Bags, which are provided to children entering foster care. Each bag includes hygiene items, a stuffed animal, coloring book and crayons, a book, a toy, a quilt, and new pajamas, socks, and underwear.
We are so grateful for everyone who has donated items, volunteered, shared our mission, and helped us support children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
