April has been a month full of excitement and generosity! From the success of Loudoun KidzFest to a variety of successful donation drives and fundraising efforts, we’ve seen incredible support from our community. Team Member of the Month: Theresa Fassig Normil

We are thrilled to announce Theresa Fassig Normil as our Team Member of the Month! As our Board Secretary and the driving force behind our Seasonal Blessings event, Theresa plays a vital role in making a tremendous impact on our community. Seasonal Blessings is one of our largest service events, and with the event more than doubling in size, Theresa has perfected the flow and streamlined the process to ensure its success. Her dedication, organizational skills, and unwavering commitment to our mission are evident in everything she does. Beyond her work with Seasonal Blessings, Theresa continuously goes above and beyond to support our team in countless other ways. We are so grateful to have her as part of our UpsideDown Moments family!

Loudoun Kidzfest!

Fun at Loudoun KidzFest

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year's Loudoun KidzFest a resounding success! We are thrilled to share that we raised over $2,200, which will directly fund our mission of supporting children in foster care, at-risk youth, and young adults aging out of foster care. This event wouldn't have been possible without the incredible generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, bakers, raffle and silent auction donors, and everyone who attended. Your support is truly making a difference in the lives of the young people we serve, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for being part of our community and helping us continue this important work!



Upcoming fundraising event by Rotary Club

We are excited to attend the Rotary Club of Leesburg’s STICKY WICKET CROQUET Tournament on May 17th, 2025! This fun event combines community spirit and philanthropy, and we are thrilled to be part of it. Proceeds will support our mission of helping children in foster care, at-risk youth, and young adults transitioning out of foster care. A Heartfelt Thank You to Stone Bridge High School's FBLA Community Service Chapter!

A big thank you to Stone Bridge High School's FBLA Community Service Chapter for their incredible generosity! We are so grateful for the over 400 items they collected and donated to UpsideDown Moments. Their thoughtful donation will make a significant impact on the young people we serve, providing them with the essential items they need as they move forward in life. We are so proud to be supported by such a dedicated group of students who are making a real difference in our community. Thank you, FBLA, for your hard work, compassion, and commitment to service!

Help Furnish a Home for a Young Family!

UpsideDown Moments is supporting a young mom who has aged out of foster care as she starts a new chapter with her two children. We are working to furnish their apartment and create a warm, welcoming home for them, and their move-in date is 05/15!

Vehicles Empowering Hope


Through our Vehicles Empowering Hope (VEH) Program we have already assisted with six car repairs and provided one individual with a bike!


You can support our "Vehicles Empowering Hope" program in various ways. We are currently seeking repair shops and towing companies interested in partnering with us. Additionally, we are looking for driving schools or qualified individuals to assist former foster youth in obtaining their driver’s licenses. If interested, please fill out the form via the button below and indicate how you wish to help. Furthermore, donations are always welcomed to cover the costs of the program.




The Closet

A Big Thank You!

We are excited to announce that UpsideDown Moments has been selected as a grant recipient of $2,500 from The Closet of the Greater Herndon Area! This generous funding will help us continue our mission of supporting children in foster care, at-risk youth, and young adults aging out of foster care. We are deeply grateful to The Closet for their commitment to our cause and for believing in the work we do. This grant will help provide essential resources and opportunities for the young people we serve, and we look forward to the continued partnership in making a lasting impact in our community. Join Our Volunteer Team!

UpsideDown Moments is looking for passionate community members to join our amazing volunteer team! There are numerous ways to get involved, from sorting clothing and organizing essential items to transporting donations and helping run events that support foster children, at-risk youth, and young adults.

Not only were the items incredibly tasty, but each one was beautifully packaged, showing the thought and love that went into every baked good. We are so grateful to Kisha Dean, Taiga Uhing, Anvita Balanchand, Ellen Crites, Charlotte Morse, a Girl Scout Troop, Bonnie Jean Vance, and Girl Scout Troop 1471 for your time, effort, and creativity. Your contributions made the event even sweeter, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

From helping with set-up to running game booths, organizing the egg race and speed packing race, face painting, crafting, creating balloon animals, managing the bake sale, assisting with the raffle ticket booth, and overseeing the silent auction, your contributions were invaluable. Each of you played a vital role in making the event run smoothly and ensuring everyone had a fantastic time. We are deeply grateful for your generous donation of time, energy, and enthusiasm. Thank you to the Businesses and Organizations that supported Loudoun KidzFest!


We are incredibly grateful to Weird Brothers Coffee for their generous donation of coffee and supplies, keeping everyone energized throughout the event. A big thank you to Nova Roller Derby for providing a fun coloring activity for the kids and for their help with both set-up and clean-up. Bach to Rock brought wonderful musical entertainment, adding to the lively atmosphere. Miss Loudoun County Teen, Lauren Rodgers, from the Miss Arlington Scholarship Organization made the event even more special with a crown-making activity for the kids. Victory Martial Arts wowed us with exciting demonstrations, and the Department of Family Services played an essential role in supporting the event. Your contributions helped make this event unforgettable, and we are so thankful for your partnership!
